Cast

Russell Crous

Character: Klaus

Russell Crous tries to act, and The Locket is his latest attempt.

With a keen passion for film, theatre and voice acting, he aims to dominate a wide range of mediums. With a start in theatre, he transitioned into film with vigour and is now experimenting with animations and voice overs.

The Locket was an opportunity to expand his range of acting. While he tends towards fun, quirky or charismatic roles, this foray into the drama was a challenging experience. You can decide whether it was successful or not, but he learnt a lot either way.

He enjoys a wide variety of science fiction and fantasy works, Star Wars being one of his favourite collections of works. He *will* be in one of the upcoming Star Wars films in the near future.

He hopes to take the voice acting into video games and cartoons. He hopes to be the first actor to portray Batman in both live action and voice mediums.

Melanie Aiff

Character: Rachel

Melanie Aiff was born and raised in Windhoek Namibia. A small town but not so much a small town girl, having spent most of her school-life in an international school, she’s been surrounded with different cultures and religions, and always spoiled with experiences from concerts to travelling worldwide.

She grew up loving ‘The Arts’ in all ways and forms, from design to multi-media (painting, sketching, etc.), dance, music (singing and song-writing), and finally the dramatic arts, and moved to Cape Town when she was 16 to try keep hold of all of them. Her love for education and deep interest in learning about different cultures has definitely influenced her belief that “transformation is magic” and developed a passion for acting.

Her first love is theatre, though after attending a film school for the past 3 years she’s learned to appreciate the beauty of film too. Melanie wishes to continue to perfect her craft and bask herself in meaningful and relevant projects, combining her passions, by using her art to teach.
